This is for mounting any optic with the Leupold Delta Point Pro footprint onto a 1911. Each 1911 slide may require a unique cut depending on the location and depth of the rear iron sight that's currently on your slide. The target depth is 0.220". The holes will be drilled and tapped for M4 x 0.7 countersunk screws.

This service will require your rear Iron to be removed.

When shipping your slide, send the complete upper assembly, To include the barrel and recoil spring. This will allow us to verify the fit of the red-dot against the other components (mainly the extractor depressor plunger), plus allow us to boresight your optic so that your slide is ready to shoot, right out of the box! If you send the slide with new iron sights, we'll install them for free. DO NOT SEND THE LOWER PART OF YOUR FIREARM.

Please send your red dot with your slide. From our experience, every red dot is a little unique. We want to ensure you get the best possible fit. It also allows us to boresight your new set up for free.

Check out our Shipping & Dropoff page for details on lead-time and how to ship items to us.

To keep things simple, we've chosen to use these cerakote colors:

- Blackout E-100

- FDE H-265

- OD Green H-236

- Burnt Bronze H-148

- Titanium H-170

If you'd like to see a different color, please select other and specify in the comments. There will be an upcharge for using a color outside of our standard color ways. Looking for a custom Cerakote? Check out our Custom Coatings page.

If black nitride is selected, know that this is an out of house process. Turn around time is out of your control, but the average turn around time is 4 weeks.

If you don't see the footprint or the firearm that you're looking for, please reach out. We are always looking to expand our options.

Slide cut on my 1979 Colt

Posted by Mitch on May 9th 2025

I had an idea to modernize a 1979 Colt Combat Commander and the first idea was to mill the slide for a Leupold Deltapoint Pro and freak out some boomers! Drew did not disappoint! He did a stellar job and even blued the cut area for me to preserve the original 2 tone slide finish. Super fast turn around. UPS took longer to return the slide than it took for Drew to finish the project.
