The design constraints were simple: Make it durable, make it so it doesn't hinder routine firearm maintenance, and make it easy enough for a gunsmith with manual machines to install. The four recoil lug design allows for the most thread engagement possible, and the drilled rear iron holes allow you to add enamel paint to brighten them up, if you'd like.
Most adapter plates are made from 7075 aluminum, which is a durable grade of aluminum. But when we start talking about the most violent part of your firearm, aluminum isn't the right material for the job. Our plates are made of 416 stainless, giving you the most reliability and durability you could ask for. This is one of the most widely used materials in the firearm industry, so we didn't see any need to cut corners with any other material. This adapter plate offers a lower 1/3 co-witness, making it the perfect product for back up iron sights. It also sits on the far back of your slide, allowing you to still access all the components of your slide to allow for basic maintenance.
This will come with #4-40 screw to mount the optic to the plate, and #6-32 screw to mount the plate to the slide.
